Now that summer is in full swing, we’re definitely looking to expand our swimwear collection. But with so many styles from halterneck to bandeau and tankinis to swimsuits, how do you know which one will suit you best? This is one of the most commonly asked questions we get so we’ve rounded up some of our fave styles and listed the pros and cons of each, to help you with your decision.
Halternecks are one of my favourite swimwear styles because of the incredible shape they give to your boobs, and you can avoid the awkward tan lines over your shoulders from the straps! The adjustable neck tie straps can be tightened or loosened as necessary, giving a bit of wiggle room for those between cup sizes. The only downside to this style is the pressure that bigger boobs can place on the straps and your neck - but you can always pair it up with the Halto accessory to help relieve the pressure. This ingenious accessory allows you to thread the straps through and tie them in a knot, spreading the pressure over a larger area to reduce the impact.

The classic balconette shape is a firm favourite for swimwear. It offers superb comfort and has all the lift and support of your regular balconette bra. This is a great option if you want a bit more coverage, whilst still looking absolutely gorgeous. The shoulder straps help keep things in place, but can compromise your tan.

The bandeau is typically the most versatile of swimwear choices. Most styles come with removable straps so you won’t need to worry about those pesky tan lines! Wear this piece strapless, or get creative with the straps and cross them over, turn them into a halterneck, or as a classic over-the-shoulder style.

Tankinis are a perfect option if you want to cover up without compromising style. Designed with a figure flattering cut, they come in a range of styles so are suitable for everyone. You can fold the body part up or down for custom coverage whilst sunbathing, too!
We love: Flirtelle Palm Bay
The classic one piece! Stylish and full coverage, these don’t have to be frumpy. Like tankinis, swimsuits can come in a range of styles so there’s something for everyone. They come in a range of different styles, and some have adjustable leg ties to adjust the coverage slightly. The only downside to these is that you can’t adjust the coverage of the midriff, and may not be a suitable fit for those with longer torsos.
